Deimos-1 provides images to the "International Charter Space and Major Disasters" to support the estimate of the damage Hurricane Irene
The International Charter The International Charter aims at providing a unified system of space data acquisition and delivery to those affected by natural or man-made disasters through Authorized Users. Each member agency has committed resources to support the provisions of the Charter and thus is helping to mitigate the effects of disasters on human life and property.
In the alert issued by the ICSMD to evaluate the effects of Hurricane Irene on the east coast of the U.S. and Canada, Deimos Imaging has provided 5 DEIMOS-1 images of the affected area from different dates, before and after the disaster. The following figures shows the images provided by DMI:
