Deimos-1 for Africa

Several DMC satellites similar to Deimos-1 are joining forces to provide imagery of the whole African tropical forest to the European Union.  ESA is managing the program and has responsibility over the timeliness and quality of the delivery.

Deimos Imaging S.L. delivered already a first batch of imagery covering extense areas of Africa, on time and with a very high quality.  More sets of imagery will follow, since the system is working at full speed to complete as much as possible before the next milestone.

Six months of operation

Deimos-1 satellite is operating well at this time.  The program is set up so that commissioning happens formally when both ground and flight segments are fully operational.  This has not happened yet since we are tracking still non-conformances on the ground processing software.  However, with some workarounds requiring operator intervention the system is performing better and better.
