Olympics from orbit: main stadiums and venues captured by Deimos-2

The 2018 Winter Olympics have arrived!

In total 13 venues located in PyeongChang and in the neighboring city of Gangneung will be used during the two week sporting spectacle.

Here’s what some of the main sites look like from the orbit of Deimos-2:

The Olympic Stadium, where the opening ceremony is soon to be held.



The Olympic Village.



The Olympic Sliding Center (left), a  2,018 meters long track to commemorate the Olympic Games, where the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton events will be hosted. And the The ski jumping center (right), which will host the ski jumping and the Nordic combined events.

The Bokwang Phoenix Park (left), venue for the freestyle skiing and snowboard , and the Jeongseon Alpine Centre (right), hosting the alpine speed events of Downhill, Super-G, and Combined.

And last, but not least, the Kwandong Hockey Centre in Gangneung, one of the two venues for ice hockey.
