Chinese SuperView 1 and 2 launched

A Chinese Long March 2D rocket launched SuperView 1 and 2, a pair of 0.5-meter high-resolution remote sensing satellites, from the LC9 launch complex at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center situated in Shanxi, China, on December 28th, 2016. They are part of a planned constellation for civilian remote sensing operated by Siwei Star Co. Ltd., Beijing.

These satellites, also known as Gaojing-1, are expected to orbit on the same orbital plane at an altitude of 500 km and spaced by 180°.

DEIMOS-2 captured pre-launch activities the days before the launching and it pictured the LC9 launch complex at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center shortly before the launching.
