North Korea captured by Deimos-2 amid preparations for a military parade

Deimos-2 captured Pyongyang as preparations for a possible military parade continue in North Korea’s capital. A large-scale military parade marking the founding of the Korean People’s Army is expected to take place there on February 8, just one the day before the start of the Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The first image, captured today, February 6, shows armored vehicles and parade formations of troops displayed at Mirim Parade Training Facility.

The second image, captured on February 1, shows undergoing preparations at Pyongyang’s Kim Il Sung Square and, according to reports, a large crowd forming a red wave.

Meanwhile, an image of the same area captured on January 31, shows the square was empty then.

Deimos-2 analytics-ready data is a key  tool for activity-based intelligence and change detection applications.
