This image features Frankfurt, the financial capital of Continental Europe and the fifth largest city in Germany. The city is known for its futuristic skyline, for being home of the European Central Bank and the German Stock Exchange. Zooming in the image’s center, we can clearly see Frankfurt’s central station, one of the most frequented in Europe. Going down from the station, from left to right, the European Central Bank, the Commerzbank and the Japan towers are visible. The river Main, the longest right Rhine tributary, runs through the city and is connected to the Danube river via the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. At the image’s bottom is visible the Paulskirche church, where President J.F. Kennedy gave a speech in 1963.
